1. Source assessment
DebitGuard evaluates whether a source is sufficiently authoritative, structured, documented and suitable for professional risk analysis.
Professional transparency
DebitGuard explains its data sources, analytical framework, intended use and limitations without publishing the proprietary formulas, mappings and decision rules that form part of its protected professional methodology.
Current launch coverage: DebitGuard currently analyses structured consumer complaint data published by the United States Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), with the present dataset focused on complaints classified under the Debt Collection product category.
Designed for broader coverage: The platform and methodology are designed to incorporate additional credible complaint data from regulators, ombudsman schemes and other authoritative bodies across multiple jurisdictions. Additional sources will be described as they are assessed, standardised and integrated. This statement does not mean that those additional datasets are already live.
DebitGuard evaluates whether a source is sufficiently authoritative, structured, documented and suitable for professional risk analysis.
Published fields are standardised, organised by reporting period and associated with the relevant company where the available source information supports that association.
Complaint records are analysed using the source’s available product, parent-issue, sub-issue, response and recorded-outcome fields.
Aggregate patterns are evaluated for potential operational weaknesses, control implications, accounting or financial-reporting considerations, response quality and remediation exposure.
Findings are supported by visible complaint counts and selected-period evidence so that users can assess the scale and recurrence of the indicator.
Approved monitoring compares completed periods, preserves snapshots and identifies material changes using the customer’s selected scope and thresholds.
DebitGuard is transparent about the framework, source, scope, assumptions and limitations needed to understand its outputs. Its detailed scoring formulas, weights, thresholds, mapping matrices, entity-matching logic, detection rules, data-cleaning methods, software, validation cases and internal quality controls remain proprietary and confidential.
Customers may use authorised outputs for their internal professional work in accordance with the Terms of Service. Systematic extraction, reverse engineering, reconstruction, resale or competitive replication is prohibited.
DebitGuard supports risk assessment, planning, monitoring and professional enquiry. It does not replace the user’s obligation to understand the entity, evaluate source reliability, obtain sufficient appropriate evidence, apply the relevant professional standards and exercise judgement.
The service does not provide an audit opinion, assurance conclusion, legal advice, investment advice or a determination that a company has breached a law, accounting standard or contractual obligation.
